Kim Chuan Depot Extension

An LTA (Land Transport Authority) project, it is for the extension works to the existing depot to double the capacity to cater for future needs. The extended depot will be able to accommodate 133 trains (up from the original 70 trains) and 550 buses. Touted as the world’s biggest underground depot, it is an underground subway train depot serving the Circle Line (CCL) in Singapore. The depot covers an area of 110,000 Sqm. Originally known as the Kim Chuan Depot, it is now gradually expanding with a far larger Kim Chuan Depot Extension (KCDE) and is to be completed in 2025. Work is currently on going. Over 7,000 tons of king posts are expected to be fabricated.
